In 1842, visionary brew master Josef Groll created the world’s first clear golden beer with a delicately balanced taste of noble hop bitterness and unique caramel sweetness. This was no longer the dull, dark beer of previous centuriers and earlier brewers, but a beer that marked the dawning of a new era, a beer that would change the world.
To date, this distinctive, full-bodied taste remains the true taste of Pilsner, still brewed according to the original recipe.
