It`s not that I was born into this business but it was too good an opportunity to miss , following in the footsteps of both my Father , a Soft Drink Manufacturer and my Grandfather who was also a Brewer. However being qualified was a MUST and so with a Business Degree and outside experience with both BRITVIC Soft Drinks and a spell at a DAYLA sister Company in the Midlands, I joined the Family Firm in 1981. In those days we sold less than 200 lines and now it`s over 3000….so the rest is history as they say.
Why this Industry?
We must always remember that we are an important part of the Leisure Industry and in a way we contribute to folk`s entertainment , so we have to deliver an experience ourselves so people will come back. That is the daily challenge that I enjoy. But overall it`s the people that make it for all of us.
Perfect Day out of Work?
A perfect day out of the office would start with an early morning round of Golf followed by a hearty breakfast, a boat on the Thames with friends and lunch on the river, followed by a lazy afternoon watching England winning a Test Match at Lords. Rounded off with an Italian Meal and a nice bottle of Frascati. 3 meals in a day…unheard of !!
Tim’s Favourite Tipple?
I do love Cask Ale though the weight piles on. A Sauvignon or Merlot suits me and an ice cold Lager on a hot day takes a lot of beating.
Outside Interests?
I have played a lot of Racquet Sports as well as Cricket and Golf . Music of all sorts is a passion and I do enjoy organising functions and fund raising events most of which I end up compering . Gardening has become an interest…must be an age thing , and I do enjoy a good night out with mates in a busy friendly good old traditional pub so I am very low maintenance when it comes to being contented.
