NATIONWIDE SUPPLY ISSUES – COCA COLA ENTERPRISES 2022

You will appreciate that back in June, we informed you of a serious supply issue that Coca Cola had with the availability of glass largely due to the war in Ukraine as well as global challenges in all supply chains. We have now received their latest update that we share with you as attached.

Unfortunately, the situation with the supply of the 330ml Glass Coca Cola range has not improved and despite best endeavours the entire UK network of Distributors find themselves with limited allocations and at time zero availability. I can assure you that myself and my entire team have worked hard to secure supply but due to all these pressures it simply hasn’t been forthcoming and the problem remains unresolved.

The following update indicates that the problem is ongoing and whilst it is far from satisfactory for both ourselves, and your business, we do at least have alternatives for Coca Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero. I realise that these are not necessarily ideal, but it does at least mean that the brands can be served.

Coca Cola | Diet Coke | Coke Zero – all available in 330ml Cans (24 per case)

Coca Cola | Diet Coke | Coke Zero – all available in 200ml Glass (24 per case)

I trust you appreciate that all of this is totally outside of our control and whilst we face these issues, we are trying everything possible to secure supply and return to normal service. We shall continue to keep you all updated as the situation changes.

Thank you once again for your ongoing understanding.

IMPORTANT UPDATE – C02 AND MIXED GAS SUPPLY : SEPTEMBER 2021

Following the huge upsurge in trade since the re-opening of the Hospitality Sector from April onwards, we are now experiencing an exceptional demand for the supply of both CO2 and Mixed Gases. As a result of this our Supplier has put us on an allocation, due not only to the pure demand but also the lack of returned cylinders to fill and exhausted availability of actual gas.

May we remind you all that all returns immediately receive a refund of the £10 per cylinder deposit and currently we need to insist on a one in, for one out rule. Equally we also need to remind you of the fact that every cylinder should be dispensing your products approximately as follows:

•  10 to 12 x 11gallon ( 50 Litre ) Kegs per Cylinder OR  10 x 10  Litre Bag in Box Post Mix

Clearly anything that falls well below this means that there could be a likelihood of a leak that you will need to have fully checked by your Main Brewer Supplier.

Our own Gas Supplier, AIR LIQUIDE, has been experiencing major problems in supply following a necessary shutdown under Health & Safety rules, as well as shortage of cylinders.  Although we also now have our very own CO2 only gas plant, we have been unable to meet the increased demand and also been unable to source.

However, our Sales Teams (both internal and external) can advise you of immediate alternative Suppliers so that you can prepare for another source of supply.

We are very sorry for yet another inconvenience but trust that you will appreciate that we are trying our very best to keep you functioning as best we can.

SERVICE BAR NONE – SEPTEMBER 2021 UPDATE

When we last wrote to you back in June the whole industry was reeling from the overwhelming demand
that hit us together with the lack of HGV drivers, empties and additional staffing to cope with the extra
volume of deliveries both incoming and outgoing. At every stage of the way I have been communicating
at a senior level across all our suppliers, in an effort, to get answers and solutions to the difficulties that we
have been facing.

Unfortunately, certain suppliers have not been very responsive or sympathetic to the issues that both you
and ourselves, are facing. I have insisted that they communicate with you, our customers to not only show
that we are not to blame but also to demonstrate what action is being taken. The worst of these has been
Heineken and despite asking for regular trade updates we have received very little….. we feel helpless and
almost forgotten. I am pressing for news and yet it is falling on deaf ears.

Thankfully, unlike Heineken we do have alternatives to offer, and this has been our lifeline since continual
shortages, failed deliveries and sudden out of stock surprises have made life very stressful for us all. Even
allocations get pulled with no rhyme or reason and this is happening nationwide.

Above all I wanted you all to know that here at DAYLA my fantastic team of staff are all working tirelessly
to keep the wheels moving and whilst we face other pressures on stocks largely due to delays at our ports,
we are determined to get through this.

I thank you for your patience which I know is wearing thin but just wanted you to know that we are simply
trying everything to satisfy your needs, though very much left in the hands of our suppliers some of whom
quite frankly don`t get it and even ask me what they are supposed to do. Once we are out of this, I know
that the normal high standards on which I have built the business will prevail.

Thank you once again for listening, all be it with no light at the end of the tunnel just yet.

SERVICE BAR NONE – JUNE 2021 UPDATE 2

Dear Friends of Dayla & James Pettit,

Following my most recent email to you all, I felt it so important to keep you all abreast of supply issues and the remedial action available to us. The most serious of those is the ongoing supply problems with Heineken who just cannot guarantee deliveries of orders into ourselves. They won`t even keep our orders on their system and each time it fails, we have to resubmit the order which is frankly ludicrous.

I personally have remonstrated at the most senior level and to say that they are all at a loss to solve the issues is an understatement with lack of drivers, empties to fill and a huge backlog of orders being the most serious of all. They have given their blessing to pour any beers through their taps and we have taken steps to increase our stocks of alternative brands so that you have beer to sell.

This is far from ideal but as ever we wanted you to know that we are trying our utmost to keep you supplied despite these imposed hurdles. Other Brewers have been experiencing problems but thankfully have jumped to the rescue when required and truly gone the extra mile.

As you know Heineken also own 2,500 Stars Pubs and Bars and have even suggested that these pubs come to us for supply as Heineken can`t serve them !!!  Clearly, we have been unable to do that as our loyal customers must come first.

Like you, we hope that this supply issue can be resolved soon, though as it is a nationwide issue we can`t see it being sorted overnight. As ever we shall endeavour to keep you all in the loop.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding …… almost at the end of my tether but assure you that we`ll get there !!
